Hearing on the draft report by the Department of the Environment entitled "Municipal Greenhouse Gas Emissions Report FY2011-2012," and it shows that the City missed its goals of 20% greenhouse gas reductions set forth in Ordinance No. 81-08, the Department should be prepared to answer the following questions: 1) Whether there are specific reduction actions that have faced delays which have caused the City to fall short of the 20% reduction goal, and how and when can those actions be completed? 2) Of the 12 % in reductions that have occurred, what were the primary factors that contributed to this achievement? 3) What steps can the City, including the Board of Supervisors take to get us back on track to hit the 25% goal by 2017? and 4) This report only looks at greenhouse gas emissions for just government agencies, what goals are set for private sector greenhouse gas reductions, and can we expect information on that in the near future?
