Hearing on the practice and efficacy of "Community Policing" (state of art term) throughout San Francisco's diverse communities as well as identifying new and accountable strategies for improving Community Policing as well as determining how its function intersects with the needs of the community, referring to: housing and land use, employment, truancy, alternative day-evening youth programs vocational training opportunities, public works' code enforcement, public/mental health, children day-care, and criminal recidivism. Further requesting presentation by the SFPD chief Heather Fong and Office of Legislative Analyst on the practice of community policing in San Francisco and elsewhere.
