Hearing to 1) Assess the aggregate costs to the City over the last five years for all civil judgments and settlements; 2) Analyze current data within the City Attorney, Risk Manager, and other Departments regarding claims, both current and from the last five years, by department, actions which led to the claim, and total costs, including City Attorney hours billed; and, 3) Survey best practices from other local governments which successfully utilize such data to direct and incentivize government departments to lessen their exposure to similar future claims.
