Title: Ordinance amending the San Francisco Building Code by amending Section 103.3 to define "demolition" to mean only the complete removal of the structure, to define "major exterior alteration" as the removal of 75 percent or more of the exterior walls of a building or 50 percent or more of the building façade facing the street, and to impose the following additional requirements on major exterior alteration projects: expanded application requirements, inspector verification of existing conditions, prohibition on commencement of work until 15 days after permit issuance, limitations on the renewal or extension of the permit beyond three years, and establishment of penalties for violation of the requirements; amending the San Francisco Building Code by repealing Section 106.3.2.2, requiring notice of the application for a demolition permit; amending the San Francisco Planning Code by amending Sections 311 and 312 to require expanded public notice of major exterior alteration projects; requiring the Building and Planning Departments to issue implementing regulations within 90 days and report to the Board on the effectiveness of the ordinance no later than nine months thereafter; and adopting findings.
