Motion asking the Legislative Analysts to work with the Mayor's Office of Economic Development and the City Attorney's Office to investigate the possibility of creating a public-private venture capital fund. This venture capital fund would offer venture capital or capital equivalent; such as, office space, technology or expertise, to small start-up ventures in exchange for equity or profit sharing. This fund should benefit, inter alia, disadvantaged communities that have limited access to capital, start-ups that employ at-risk youth or economically disadvantaged individuals, and other innovative enterprises.
