Title: Ordinance approving a Memorandum of Understanding, dated as of July 1, 1999, between the San Francisco Public Library and the Friends and Foundation of the San Francisco Public Library ("Friends and Foundation") for use of space in the Main Library building for the performance of library-related services, generation of revenues for library department purposes, and assurance of private funds to provide support on an ongoing basis for the San Francisco Public Library System; amending Article XIII, Chapter 10, Part I of the San Francisco Municipal Code ("Administrative Code") by adding Section 10.116-6 thereto, authorizing the City Librarian, or his or her designee, to accept and expend any individual gifts from the Friends and Foundation of a value of $25,000 or less; and authorizing and approving certain agreements to be made between the City and the Friends and Foundation as contemplated by such MOU, including a lease of office and gift store space and an agreement giving the Friends and Foundation the right to manage the meeting rooms, auditorium and other space for private functions and special events and to charge fees for such uses.
