Motion asking the Legislative Analyst to prepare a report to: (1) Assess the aggregate costs to the City over the last five years for all non-budgeted overtime; (2) Analyze current data within the City Attorney, and other Departments regarding overtime, both current and from the last five years, by department, actions which led to the overtime, and total costs; and, (3) Survey best practices from other local governments which successfully utilize such data to direct and incentivize government departments to lessen their overtime costs.
