Hearing to seek information on the prevalence of gunshot victims (over the past four years) who have become permanently disabled and will also explore our current capacity to respond to their short-term and long-term vocational care. The hearing will also examine what efforts are being made to support independent living for these victims of gun violence and what strategies are being utilized by the Department of Public Health to facilitate independent living and non-traditional convalescent care. The hearing will also seek information on the feasibility of an outpatient pilot program to treat these victims of gun violence.
