Mr. Mayor - I have been working with many neighbors on expanding and increasing the lighting infrastructure in District 10. District 10 has many rapidly changing neighborhoods. Areas that were once completely industrial in nature have been re-zoned to permit mixed uses including a significant increase in residential density. Many residential areas lie adjacent to dark freeway overpasses or next to streets that are not accepted by the City. You saw this first hand when we opened Progress Park over a year ago. While we have seen a significant increase in residential development, the City has not always kept pace with the changing infrastructure needs of these growing neighborhoods.
