GGNRA isn't a traditional national park but rather an urban recreation area. One long-time, established recreational use of GGNRA properties is dog walking. Thousands of San Franciscans have long walked their dogs on these federal properties. The National Park Service is proposing significant restrictions on dog access at GGNRA. These restrictions would severely limit San Franciscans' ability to utilize GGNRA with their dogs and would result in a shift of many dogs to our city parks, causing over-crowding.
