Title: Hearing to explore ways the City can better address the needs of low-wage immigrant works in San Francisco. The hearing will: (1) Highlight the former workers of Win Fashions, Wins of California, and Win Industries of America, three San Francisco garment factories that were shut down by State officials over a year ago due to gross labor law violations. The employment problems facing these immigrant Chinese women exemplify a growing economic crisis impacting large segments of San Francisco's immigrant communities. (2) Examine what the City can do to address the immediate needs of these low-wage immigrant workers and how the City is responding to businesses with illegal labor practices.
