Ordinance amending the Labor and Employment Code to require minimum staffing levels when self-service checkout is used in certain drug retail establishments and food retail establishments; limit the number of items that can be purchased by self-service checkout; establish enforcement processes and penalties for violations; authorize the City Attorney to seek injunctive and monetary relief and attorneys’ fees; and authorize the Office of Labor Standards Enforcement to enforce, and establish rules, forms, and guidance for compliance.
