Title: Hearing to discuss the construction delays for the new Oceanview Recreation Center with the Recreation and Park Department. The Department shall provide the following information: 1) The status of the project including the causes of construction delays. 2) A breakdown of all additional costs the department has incurred as a result of these delays. 3) The amount of liquidated damages that can be charged against the contractor pursuant to the construction contract. 4) How the Department plans on using the funds collected from the contractor. Also requesting that the Controller's Office investigate this issue and report back on the liquidated damages which the City can charge the developer and whether there are any legal restraints on the use of those funds.
